A Beggar with a Bank balance

" Guys, I'm taking a break " i told my colleagues, straightened my hair and walked out of the office. Pressed in the biometric key at the security and got out. It was around 5 PM and i could feel the evening breeze. Thought for a moment where to go, and decided to follow my everyday ritual. I tentatively got down the stairs and walked slowly towards the bustling main road. Mount Road was always very busy with vehicles zooming past as if in a race to finish. I took the subway around the corner, as usual, to my favorite bhai kadai on the other side. With no lights, the subway was quite gloomy inside, even during the day. As an everyday scene, there was an old lady in dirty rags, with a stick and a cup, seated near the exit stairs. She usually stares at passers by with daunting eyes and clangs the cup, demanding money and i pay her ten rupees out of pity for her age... but that day was different. The old lady was on her phone, busy talking to someone. She was furious. I ...

All that is needed

There was a time when i thought i needed fame, and money to be happy .. or needed to be recognized by all to be feel content.. but later i realized that money, fame and everything else is just temporary.. it will go as quick as it comes.. and love is all that matters.. to love is good.. but to be loved is the greatest blessing of all.. and if you are loved by many, not just those in your closest circle then, it is the biggest thing in life.. to earn that love is hard.. and working towards it is definitely worth while. I thought i needed to be important, i had to be strong and brilliant, and highly talented to be loved.. but i was wrong.. all that is needed is to give love, and it will find its way back to you, always. Give love to a single person, it may or may not come back to you,  but give out love to the world and everyone in it, it will come back to you a million fold.  The important thing is that you must feel blessed and not take it for granted, for real love is...

Dope Rewards

The reward system of dopamine was built into our brain to reward us after a hard day's work.. To feel good and to motivate us to do better. But now e very like, every comment gives us a shot of dopamine, and we want more and more of it.. so we contribute to it more and more because we like it.   And we are getting all that reward without doing anything.. sitting at home, posting a picture.  The fact that you're being rewarded without working hard or without breaking a sweat..  is destroying you, and in fact, the entire generation. We will neither be able to focus on long term goals, nor we will be motivated enough to work for it, because we are already getting rewards for everything that we do or say. This is ruining our generation, addicting them to short term boosts, making them incapable of patience to wait for results, or persistence to stick on to long term goals. They want everything and they want it now, because that's how their brains are getting tune...

Life is a Battery

We live like we are going to live forever.. But we'll all cease one day.. And the clock is ticking.. Do the best of what you can while You're here. Its not about what others think about you, or give to you. Its about what you give to the world. How you influenced the world. What difference you make before you're battery runs out. That's all that matters. Don't take life for granted.. Don't take the back seat and relax.. This life was given to you by God. It's not yours. You have an obligation to God that you'll have to fulfill before you're battery runs out. Do what you must, no matter what. This is a debt that you have to pay by hard work. If you take it for granted, you'll regret it in the end.. Don't let that happen. Do your duty. When you go back to God, you must be able to say, "Yes, I've done Your will." - R V Shantharam

Freedom from Facebook

This is my story of how addicted I was to Facebook. Foreword : It actually is unbelievable that facebook could change things so much. It may not be so for all, many are quite busy to login even once a day.. but for me it made a huge difference since I spent almost 5 hrs on FB each day, cumulatively, at work, at home, outside and (sometimes) even, in the bathroom.. Yep. Being so into it, I failed to realise how much social media was brainwashing me subconsciously, influencing my thoughts and beliefs. Social platforms study our activities and give us what we want rather than what really is. Doping us and thereby addicting us to a false sense of glitz, reality and living. A lie, if repeated a thousand times, becomes a reality.. I once read a post, " Guy, quits his job and makes millions by touring the world." We may never know the truth behind it.. or what happened before or after that. Did you feel miserable with your life after reading it? I sure did, for...
